约述亚·塞尔维斯特JoshuaSylvester（1562-1618），英国著名诗人兼文学翻译家，以翻译法国诗人都·巴达斯（DuBartas）的诗歌著称。这是诗人仅存下来的一首十四行诗作，选自《诗薮》（ThePoeticalRhasodie）。

我的卑微，就像那低洼的草原

而你，我的爱人，如蓝天般高贵

我，你卑微的情人，

作品赏析

无论你是崇高的天空，还是卑微的海床；无论你我地位有多悬殊，无论你在何方，“我”的爱都将永远追随着你，“我”的爱无处不在。诗歌用天空与平原的对比，表现出恋人之间坚贞的爱，那是距离与地位这些因素都无法阻挡的。这“无所不在”的爱深沉而宽广。
